Ohio Diocese Discourages "Ice Bucket Challenge" - May God Abundantly Bless Jim Rigg!

Superintendent of Catholic Schools in Cincy has raised awareness that money from the 'ice bucket challenge' will be used to kill the people they have frozen in a laboratory to 'find the cure' for ALS.

That's never going to happen, because:

A) God will never permit it.
B) Catholics don't contribute time or treasure to outcomes where one person is killing another to derive some benefit for themselves.

A Roman Catholic diocese in Ohio is discouraging its 113 schools from participating in the ice bucket challenge to benefit the ALS Association, saying the group's funding of embryonic stem cell research is "in direct conflict with Catholic teaching."

Jim Rigg, superintendent of Catholic schools for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, told the schools in a letter Tuesday to "immediately cease" any plans to raise funds for the association and to instead direct donations to another organization that combats ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease also known as Lou Gehrig's disease that causes paralysis and almost certain death.

Bravo.

Another story followed, where the Dad of a former BC football star suffering from ALS - God's blessings upon them - announced he is in conflict with Church teaching that killing another human being is wrong because he would like to see his son cured and is encouraging other Catholics to ignore dogma on killing and focus on the cure.

USCCB Secretariat of Prolife Activities was contacted by the Herald for guidance.

Are you ready?

Boston’s Cardinal Sean P. O’Malley declined to weigh in on the ALS soaking dares last night.

He'll be a lot of help when ISIS has our fannies on a frying pan in Dewey Square.

When the press dials the Chancery and nobody picks up the phone, they'll know its him.

Is anyone shocked by the lack of response?

Cardinal O'Malley can't comment. His very own priest secretary, Fr. Jonathan Gaspar did it on Facebook.
